This week's assignment will cover Junior High English and Junior High History!
You will learn how to build a basic PowerPoint presentation by watching these 2 videos
PowerPoint basics
PowerPoint Intermediate
If you do not have PowerPoint on your computer, you can download free presentation software at Libre.com and also OpenOffice.com. Be sure to discuss with your parents. (Maybe they can learn this with you!)
Now I want you to try to create your own PowerPoint presentation about the colonial figure you researched last week.
Requirements for PowerPoint: 10 slides: (The rubrics are posted below.)
1 Title
5 Informational slides
2 Picture slides
1 Bibliography Slide
1 Concluding slide.
Do NOT use sentences and paragraphs on your slides. Use bullet points with phrases. Use pictures.
Do NOT use only pictures. Your title slide should include a title and your name.
Bibliography slide should show where you got your information AND your pictures.
Concluding slide is a summary slide. You can use a quote, most interesting/most important fact, etc.
Save your presentation to a flashdrive and I will put it on the computer in class.
You will be presenting your PowerPoint in class so create notes to use as you present.
You will not be reading off of the PowerPoint. Use note cards or if you can use the note section in the software you can print that out for your use.
Notes will be turned in after presentation to be graded.
During presentation, speak very clearly and slowly (enunciate), make eye contact with audience, do not just read presentation or notes.
Stay calm. This presentation will be short. Everyone will give it a try.
Have fun with it!
