This week you need to write a 3 paragraph story based on the passage used last week in which Jadis explains how she became queen. This week you will write the story from Sister's point of view. Here are the steps to do this assignment:
Finish the key word outline we discussed in class. Use the Story Sequence Model from your book (remember that you need to turn in the Key Word Outline along with your story).
Brainstorm GREAT adjectives for the nouns in your story (see student book).
Brainstorm GREAT strong verbs and EXCELLENT adverbs to go with them.
Write a rough draft 3 Paragraph story . Read it out loud to yourself to help you with editing. Double check your checklist to make sure you have included ALL requirements.
Type your paper in proper format. HAVE ANOTHER PERSON EDIT YOUR PAPER BEFORE YOU PRINT!!!! In each paragraph, (1) underline your best quality adjective and mark ADJ in the margin, (2)underline your best strong verb and mark VB in the margin (3) underline your best adverb and mark ADV in the margin, (4) underline an -ly/adverb sentence opener and mark #3 in your margin.
To your typed final copy, attach the key word outline, the rough draft and the checklist.
Complete the 5 Grammar worksheets. These are easy because they are review!
Read Chapter 6 from The Magician's Nephew.
