This year we are using Institute for Excellence in Writing's Ancient Themed Writing book. We will also be using IEW's FixIt for grammar and punctuation review. We will also use The Critical Thinking Company's Word Roots to develop vocabulary. Literature will include short stories and a couple novels that we will try to tie in to the Ancient History Theme.
Here is a suggested supplies list:
1. A 3 ring notebook to hold the Resource Notebook that you will print out from a link that will be provided in your textbook. It will be helpful to have dividers for this as well. If you already have a Resource Notebook from previous IEW studies, do not print again!
2. A 3 ring notebook with dividers for your class work.
3. Notecards for your vocabulary words.
4. Consider highlighters and post-it notes for literature studies.
